Nhyira means “Blessing” in Fante, the major local language spoken in the Central and Western Regions of Ghana. Nhyira Medical Relief is a recently founded 501(c)(3) public charitable organization with its operations beginning in late 2013. Prior to the organization’s inception, Nhyira founder Mrs. Sabina Amporful and her husband Dr. Sam G. Amporful opened the Nhyira acute care facility in the central region of Kasoa, Ghana. The Nhyira Acute Care Facility is a medical facility which provides sustainable health care and services to people in rural areas of Ghana. At the beginning of the year, the Nhyira Acute Care Facility was donated to the organization by the Amporfuls.
